Stewart Levitt
LAWYER | ACTIVIST | POET
Stewart Levitt is best known for his work as a lawyer, successfully fighting public causes against banks and Government for the underdog, whether an indigenous Australian outlier, a down-at-the-heel farmer or a disabled child.
Levitt is also a poet, whose verse exudes passion laced with compassion. In 2019 he released an anthology of his poetry, ‘Too Soon to be Late”, Stewart’s take on an “Australian Retrospective” covering race relations, international politics, religion and the human condition. He later published ‘We Mortals’: the international edition of ‘Too Soon to be Late ‘: including new work about the Australian landscape, environmental concerns and Jewish identity in the face of latter-day antisemitism. It is available for purchase on Amazon.

our readers say ”
Inspired use of language
“Such an utterly unusual book deserves rapid recognition, not just for its inspired use of language and images but because it states truths that our whole planet’s populace ought to be anxious to hear.”
Giles Auty – Spectator and Quadrant Contributor, author, artist & art critic
A crusader for the innocent
“These pages document the interior life of a man who, it must be said, has come wonderfully to personify Sydney’s grit and colour. A villain’s advocate and a crusader for the innocent, Stewart Levitt has embraced every one of life’s contradictions.”
Linton Besser – acclaimed author
